Cookie Policy

Finding Horizons uses a small number of cookies and browser storage mechanisms, limited to what is necessary to operate the app securely and remember your preferences.

When you sign in via Apple, Google, or email magic link, Supabase Auth sets secure session cookies necessary to keep you signed in. These cookies:

• Are required for the app to function when signed in
• Cannot be opted out of while using the Service
• Expire when your session ends or you sign out
• Do not contain personal data beyond a session token

We use your browser's local storage (not cookies) for:

• Theme preference: Your chosen background theme (System / Horizon / Nebula) so it persists across sessions
• Referral code: A referral code from a URL parameter, stored briefly to attribute your sign-up
• UI state: Minor interface preferences (e.g., last selected filter) to improve your experience

Local storage data is stored on your device and is not transmitted to our servers unless you are signed in and the preference is synced to your account.

If Firebase Analytics is configured, it may set analytics cookies to help us understand feature usage in aggregate. Firebase Analytics:

• Is optional and only active if the Firebase configuration is present
• Collects aggregate usage data — not personally identifiable information
• Is subject to Google's Privacy Policy

We do not currently use any other third-party analytics services. We do not use advertising networks or ad-tracking cookies.

When you interact with map features powered by Google Maps (embedded in the app), Google may set its own cookies subject to Google's privacy and cookie policies.

We do not set cross-site tracking cookies or sell cookie data.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Deleting essential session cookies will sign you out. Clearing local storage will reset your theme preference and other UI state.

On mobile, you can clear app data in your device's App Settings to remove all stored preferences.
