Free trial, cancellation, and billing

1. Free Trial
Finding Horizons offers a free trial period during which all premium features are available. No payment is required to start a trial. The trial duration is shown at sign-up and may vary.
You may cancel at any time during the trial without charge. Cancelling before the trial ends means you will not be charged.
2. Subscription Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or via the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain access to premium features until then.
We do not offer prorated refunds for unused days within a billing period, except as required by applicable law.
3. Refund Eligibility
Refunds may be considered in the following situations:
- You were charged in error (e.g., duplicate billing)
- A technical issue caused by us prevented you from accessing the Service for an extended period
- You cancelled within 48 hours of an unintended renewal and have not used premium features in that period
Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the charge. To request a refund, contact us at support@findinghorizons.ca with your account email and the charge date.
We reserve the right to decline refunds for accounts that have violated our Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
4. Annual Subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are billed upfront for the year. You may cancel at any time, and your access continues until the end of the annual term. Prorated refunds for annual subscriptions are evaluated case-by-case — contact us to discuss.
5. Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing. You will be notified at least 30 days in advance of any price change. Continuing your subscription after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
6. Failed Payments
If a payment fails, Stripe will automatically retry. If payment cannot be collected after retries, your account will be downgraded to the free tier. You can update your payment method in the billing portal at any time.
7. App Store / Play Store Billing
If you subscribe through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, their respective refund policies apply. Finding Horizons does not control App Store or Play Store refunds — contact Apple or Google support directly for purchases made through those platforms.
8. Travel Bookings
Finding Horizons does not process travel bookings (flights, hotels, restaurants, tours). All travel reservations are made through third-party providers. Any refunds for travel bookings must be requested directly from the relevant provider. We are not responsible for third-party booking cancellation or refund policies.
