1. Plans & Free Trial
Finding Horizons offers a free trial period during which all premium features are unlocked. The trial duration is shown at sign-up. No payment information is required to start a trial.
After the trial, a paid subscription is required to continue using premium features. Free-tier access (if available) will be clearly marked in the app.
2. Premium Features
Premium features may include (and may change over time):
- Unlimited saved places (Points)
- Import from any URL or share sheet
- AI itinerary planning and enrichment
- Trip planning and itinerary builder
- Collection sharing
- Booking uploads and parsing
- Free Roam / Mini Quest features
Feature availability may change. We will provide notice of significant feature removals from any paid tier.
3. Billing & Payment
Subscriptions are processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you authorize Stripe to charge your selected payment method at the start of each billing cycle.
Subscription options (monthly / annual) and current pricing are shown at checkout. Prices are in Canadian dollars (CAD) or US dollars (USD) depending on your region, as displayed at purchase.
We do not store your payment card details — Stripe handles payment method storage and processing exclusively.
4. Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You will receive a reminder before renewal when required by applicable law.
To avoid being charged for the next period, you must cancel before the renewal date. The renewal date is visible in your billing settings.
5. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time from Settings → Billing or via the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain premium access until then.
Cancelling a subscription does not delete your account or data. Your saved places, trips, and collections remain accessible at whatever tier is available after cancellation.
6. Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with at least 30 days' notice. You will be notified via email and in-app notification before any price change affects your renewal. Continuing your subscription after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
7. Failed Payments
If a payment fails, Stripe will retry according to its standard retry schedule. If payment cannot be collected after retries, your account will be moved to the free tier. Your data is preserved. You can resubscribe at any time after updating your payment method.
8. Premium Access Is Server-Controlled
Your subscription status is verified server-side on every premium action. There is no way to bypass the premium gate client-side. We do not grant premium access based on unverified client state.
9. Referral Rewards
Referral rewards (bonus trial days, discounts) may extend your trial or discount a subscription. Referral rewards are subject to availability and the terms in our Referral Terms. Rewards may be modified or discontinued at any time.
10. App Store / Play Store
If you subscribe through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, their billing and refund rules apply and may differ from these terms. Cancellation must be made through the respective store's subscription management settings.
