Our brand, third-party content, and takedown process

1. Finding Horizons Intellectual Property

The Finding Horizons name, wordmark, logo, visual design system, application code, and original content (including but not limited to UI elements, copy, and brand assets) are the intellectual property of Finding Horizons.

Nothing in these Terms or in your use of the Service grants you any ownership of or licence to Finding Horizons intellectual property beyond the limited usage rights described in our Terms of Service.

2. Trademark

"Finding Horizons" is an unregistered trademark of Finding Horizons. See our Trademark Notice for details.

You may not use the Finding Horizons name, logo, or branding without our written permission, except as permitted for editorial or fair use purposes consistent with applicable law.

3. Third-Party Content

Finding Horizons displays content from third-party sources (Google Maps, PredictHQ, user-imported URLs, etc.). All third-party content and trademarks remain the property of their respective owners. We make no claim of ownership over imported content from platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, Klook, or any other third-party platform.

Users are responsible for ensuring that their use of third-party content within Finding Horizons complies with those platforms' terms of service and applicable copyright law.

4. User Content & Copyright

By importing, uploading, or submitting content to Finding Horizons, you represent that you own or have the necessary rights to that content. See our User Content Policy for the full terms governing user-submitted content.

We respect intellectual property rights and respond promptly to valid copyright takedown notices.

5. Copyright Takedown (DMCA-Style Notice)

If you believe content on Finding Horizons infringes your copyright, send a written notice to legal@findinghorizons.ca including:

  • Your name, address, phone number, and email
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you claim is infringed
  • Location of the allegedly infringing content within Finding Horizons (URL or description)
  • A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law
  • A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of the owner

We will respond to valid notices within a reasonable time. Note that submitting a false or bad-faith notice may expose you to legal liability.

6. Counter-Notice

If you believe your content was removed in error, you may submit a counter-notice to legal@findinghorizons.ca with the required legal declarations. We will restore content if appropriate following the counter-notice process.

7. No Copying Third-Party App Assets

Finding Horizons does not copy or incorporate proprietary design assets, code, or branding from third-party applications. If you believe we have done so in error, contact us at legal@findinghorizons.ca.
