Terms of Service

By accessing or using the Finding Horizons application or website (collectively, "the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms") and all policies incorporated by reference, including our Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and Subscription Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service. Your continued use of the Service after updates to these Terms constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

The Service is operated by Finding Horizons, located at 5513 Avenue de Monkland, Montréal, QC H4A 1C8, Canada.

You may create an account using Apple Sign-In, Google Sign-In, or an email magic link. By signing in, you authorize Finding Horizons to receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your chosen sign-in provider.

You must be at least 13 years of age to create an account. If you are between 13 and 18, you represent that you have parental consent. By creating an account, you confirm the information you provide is accurate.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@findinghorizons.ca if you believe your account has been compromised.

Finding Horizons is a travel organization, discovery, and planning tool. It allows you to import places from social media and the web, organize them into collections and trips, plan itineraries, track bookings, and discover events near your destination.

Finding Horizons is not a travel agency. We do not book flights, hotels, restaurants, or experiences on your behalf. All information provided through the Service — including AI-generated suggestions, imported place data, and event listings — is for informational and organizational purposes only. Certain features may be gated behind a paid subscription or free trial. See Subscription Terms for details. The availability of features may change as the Service evolves.

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others. You are solely responsible for:

• The accuracy and legality of any content you import, upload, or create within the Service
• Verifying all travel information, opening hours, prices, visa requirements, and safety conditions before traveling
• Any travel decisions you make based on data from the Service
• Complying with the terms of third-party platforms when importing content from them
• Respecting the intellectual property rights of content creators and platforms

Subject to these Terms, Finding Horizons grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial travel organization purposes.

You may import content from third-party platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, Klook, etc.) strictly for personal organizational use within your own account, provided you comply with those platforms' terms of service.

You must not:

• Scrape, crawl, or systematically access the Service or its APIs without authorization
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the Service's source code
• Upload or share malware, harmful code, or unauthorized automation
• Impersonate other users, employees, or entities
• Use the Service for any illegal purpose, including intellectual property infringement
• Harass, threaten, defame, or harm other users — see Community Guidelines
• Attempt to circumvent subscription gating, paywalls, or access controls
• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute access to the Service without written permission

Finding Horizons offers a free trial period during which most features are available. After the trial, a paid subscription is required to continue using premium features. Billing is processed by Stripe, Inc. By subscribing, you agree to Stripe's terms of service in addition to ours.

Subscription fees are charged at the start of each billing period (monthly or annual). Prices are shown before purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice. Your continued subscription after a price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

If you access the Service through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, the app store provider's billing rules and refund policies may apply in addition to ours.

The Service integrates with third-party services including Supabase (database and authentication), Stripe (billing), Google OAuth and Maps/Places API, PredictHQ (event data), and AI providers for itinerary suggestions. Use of these services is subject to their respective terms.

Imported content (links, images, captions, booking references) from platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Google Maps, and Klook is stored as user-provided reference material. We make no warranty about the accuracy or currency of imported content. We are not responsible for third-party platform changes that affect imported links or media.

The Service may use AI to generate itinerary suggestions, activity recommendations, or summaries based on your saved places, trip context, or pasted text. These suggestions are informational only and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated.

You must independently verify all AI-generated suggestions before making travel decisions or bookings. AI suggestions are not a substitute for professional travel, legal, medical, or safety advice. See our AI & Planning Disclaimer.

The Service allows you to paste booking confirmation text, itinerary emails, or other travel documents for organizational purposes. Parsing of this text may be imperfect. We do not connect to or retrieve data from airline, hotel, or booking provider systems on your behalf.

You are responsible for ensuring that pasting third-party booking information into the Service complies with your agreement with those providers.

You may upload images, PDFs, and screenshots for personal organizational use (e.g., booking confirmations, place photos). You must only upload content you own or have the right to use. Uploaded files are stored securely and governed by our User Content Policy and Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to remove uploads that violate these Terms or our Community Guidelines.

You retain ownership of any content you create, upload, or import into the Service ("User Content"). By submitting User Content (including experience posts, reviews, notes, and shared collections), you grant Finding Horizons a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, process, and where applicable distribute that content within the Service, consistent with your privacy settings.

You represent and warrant that your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights and that you have all necessary rights to grant the above licence.

Finding Horizons may offer a referral programme allowing users to earn bonus trial days or rewards by inviting others. Referral rewards are subject to availability and may be modified or discontinued at any time. See Referral Terms for complete details.

The Finding Horizons name, logo, visual design, and software are the exclusive property of Finding Horizons. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you beyond the limited licence described in Section 5.

"Finding Horizons" is an unregistered trademark. Third-party marks remain the property of their respective owners. See our Trademark Notice and Copyright & IP Policy.

Your use of the Service is subject to our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described in the Privacy Policy.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any place data, event information, AI suggestions, or imported content.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, FINDING HORIZONS AND ITS OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Travel decisions made based on Service data or AI suggestions
• Booking errors, cancellations, or third-party failures
• Loss of imported content or trip data
• Any harm arising from in-person meetups facilitated through the Service

Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the greater of CAD $100 or the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or if required by law. You may delete your account at any time from Settings.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law) shall survive.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after notification constitutes acceptance.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Québec and the laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree to submit to the jurisdiction of the courts located in Montréal, Québec for resolution of any disputes arising from these Terms.

Canadian and US users: if you are located in a jurisdiction with mandatory consumer protection laws that provide rights beyond those described here, those rights are not waived by these Terms.
