Connect Perplexity
Set this up on perplexity.ai in a web browser, with a Pro plan or higher. Perplexity doesn’t describe adding connectors in its phone app.
Before you begin
What it can do
Read and change your trips, saved places and collections — your whole Finding Horizons account, not one trip. It can’t see your password or payment details.
Who processes it
What Perplexity reads goes to the company that runs Perplexity, under its terms, and uses your plan with them. On the Finding Horizons side, connecting is part of Horizons Plus and Nomad.
Disconnect any time
On the Connect page, or in the app: Profile → Connect your AI → Connected apps. Rotating a link stops the old one. Disconnecting stops future access; it doesn’t erase what Perplexity has already kept.
How it connectsNot seen yet
Perplexity is given the Finding Horizons address and signs you in: you sign in once and approve. Perplexity keeps that connection in its own secure store and renews it on its own — no key to paste again. We haven’t seen it finish with Perplexity yet; if signing in fails, the steps also give you a private link.
Copy this address
Finding Horizons server addresshttps://www.findinghorizons.ca/api/mcp
No key or private link: Perplexity signs you in and keeps the connection.
Open Perplexity in a new tab and sign in
In the sidebar, click Plugins
Don’t see it? Use Customize → Connectors.
Click Add custom → Add MCP connector, then choose Remote
You’ll see: a short form.
Fill in the form
Name: Finding Horizons
MCP server URL: paste the address.
Advanced → Authentication: choose OAuth. Leave the client ID and secret empty — Perplexity registers itself.
Tick the box that says you understand the risks, then click Add.
Click the Finding Horizons card to sign in
You’ll see: a Finding Horizons page. Sign in with the same account you use in the app, then click Approve.
Only if signing in fails: use your private link instead
Add the connector again with this link as the URL and Authentication set to None. Tell us it failed — we haven’t seen Perplexity’s sign-in finish with us yet.
Use it in a chat
Name it in your message, for example “Using Finding Horizons, list the places I saved in Lisbon.”
Check it worked
Ask Perplexity: “What have I saved in Finding Horizons?” It should list your places.
Then open Connected to your account: Perplexity is listed there with last used and today’s date (if you used a private link, the link says it). If it still says “not used yet”, Perplexity hasn’t reached Finding Horizons — go back one step.
Perplexity’s menus change. Checked 5 November 2026; if yours looks different, see Perplexity’s help page.
